At
dawn you are awakened by the noise of the cooks preparing breakfast. The
eastern sky is ablaze and there is a chill in the air. After a hearty breakfast
the caravan reforms, and moves out. You are travelling through harsh countryside,
with no evidence of human influence.
Through the morning, the breeze builds to a strong wind that begins to pick up dust and sand. Eventually, strong gusts make it impossible to keep your eyes open and you protect your entire face from the stinging particles. The camel keeps walking forward, and the guides let you know that you are not far from a place where the wind will not bother you. Sure enough, after about fifteen minutes, the airborne dust and sand all but disapears, while the strong wind continues to blow. Low shrubs that cover the ground hold the soil in place. At around sunset, you approach a village and eat dinner under a tree. Then you are shown to the bus that returns the group to Jaipur.
