No Injuries...

You have decided to visit the meadows of Gulmarg, and have arranged transportation. The drive is spectacular: the road spends most of its time in the valley, and you pass rows of poplars and deep green rice paddies. Gulmarg is also beautiful, and you spend a few hours hiking through flower filled meadows and dark forests.

As you approach Srinigar grey clouds have built up and within minutes a dry, dusty wind is replaced by a flood of large rain drops. The driver fishes a windshield wiper out of the glove compartment and uses it to wipe a small part of the windshield by hand. When he stops for traffic he tries to wipe a larger area and opens the door so as to reach further around. Just as the door begins to open a tiny bit a passing auto rickshaw slams into it. No one is injured, but your driver seems sad to discover that his door no longer stays shut, while the driver of the autorickshaw appears relieved to see that, other than a sizable dent in the front, his vehicle is in good shape. Your driver returns you to the hotel, holding the door shut with one hand as he drives.
